Class 1 Veteran Dog  (4)
1st BEACONMOOR CARDINAL MINT

This black/brindle/white stood four square, shown in fit condition despite his 11+ years.  Good head shape, bit and large round eye, with a good depth of brisket, excellent spring of rib and good angulation.  He moved with drive and may he do so for many a year yet.  Handled very well.

M. & P. Burton
2nd SECOND EDITION

I am glad that I have had the opportunity to go over this dog at long last and can understand him gaining a ticket in his veteran years.  Unfortunate to be against the above, had he been a little fitter the places would have been reversed.  At 12 years he still has that sparkle in his eyes large and round.  Good bite and excellent expression, strong neck, good topline and depth of brisket.  Moved and handled well.

Mr. A. & Mrs. N. Prentice
3rd FIRESTAFF BISHOP'S TIPPLE

Seven year old black/brindle/white in excellent condition.  Broad skull, large round eye giving a good expression, correct bite.  Strong shoulders, level topline and good bend of stifle.  Moved and handled well.

Class 2 Minor Puppy Dog (6, 2 absent)
1st CARNIG POSITIVE PROFILE T.A.F.

Dark brindle seven months old.  Large white teeth formed an excellent bite in an equal head shape and keen expression.  Round eyes and neat ears, still very much a baby but developing nicely.  Good front with a deep brisket, superb spring of rib, close coupled, well-placed shoulders with equally proportioned hind quarters.  Well let down at the hocks with excellent angulation.  Handled very well, he moved with drive and one of the few that I saw on the day that moved parallel from behind.  His coat is short, dense and gleaming, a credit to his owner.  Best Puppy Dog and Best Opposite Sex Puppy in Show.

Mr. & Mrs. Lay
2nd VALGLO TUSCAN

Only three days younger than 1st and equally as well put together.  Expertly handled but he didn't want to show himself on the move.  A nasal infection spoilt his stop thus affecting his expression.  I would like to see these two up against each other in a year and see how they mature.

Mr. & Mrs. Chapman and Mr. & Mrs. Hodgson
3rd CALVIRO MYSTICAL WIZARD

Top size eight month old mahogany brindle with large white teeth in a good bite, broad skull, strong neck, well-placed shoulders and tight feet.  Good depth of brisket and rear angulation.  Moved okay and handled well.

Just turned nine months, this dark brindle/white had a keen expression and good bite.  Shown in excellent condition, a credit to his owner.  Moved okay and handled well.

Class 4 Junior Dog (8, 4 absent)
1st BULLMITZ BON JOVI

I judged this dog at six months and now at seventeen months he has matured into a superb example of the breed.  A pied in excellent condition, rippling fit.  Superb head shape, large round black eyes, good stop, deep through, good bite and clean tight lips.  Well-placed shoulders, level topline held on the move, strong neck and very well-sprung ribs giving excellent lung capacity.  Close coupled, well-muscled thighs moved parallel from behind with drive.  His handler got the best from this dog and I was proud to be informed that he got his junior warrant today.  Reserve Best Dog.

P. & A. Smart
2nd DAZZLING WHITE LAD

At sixteen months this brindle/white pied was unfortunate to come up against 1st.  I have admired this dog from a puppy and he is also maturing into a superb dog.  He only lacks the stop of 1st but if he could be tempted to lift his ears this would improve his expression.  He too has an excellent bite with good head on strong well muscled shoulders, well sprung ribs.  Close coupled, good topline held on the move, well let down at the hock with good rear angulation.  A good outline from nose to tail, moved and handled well.

J. Barren and J. Guiler
3rd HALLASTAFF THE REAL ME

This black/brindle/white sixteen month old had a good bite and stop, broad muzzle, neat ears and excellent expression.  Short backed with a deep brisket.  Moved okay.

1st FULLSPEC FIRST EDITION

A fifteen month old black/white broad dog in excellent condition.  Large round eyes, big teeth in an excellent bite.  Broad skull deep through, well-muscled shoulders with good depth of brisket.  Good topline with well-sprung ribs and good rear angulation.  Moved with drive once he got going, a bit of a handful but the handler coped well.  Worth persevering with.

BOLDMORE HULLABALOO

Dark brindle/white two year old with an excellent expression and head shape, neat ears, short broad muzzle, good bite and tight clean lips.  Stood four square with a good topline, excellent spring of rib and close coupled.  This one of my favourite dogs on the circuit at the moment but I've seen him look fitter, he definitely wasn't himself today.

Mr. & Mrs. Hodgson
3rd DARNDRA ZULU PRINCE

Nearly two years old, this dark brindle/white had a good head shape with a pleasing expression, good bite and stop with a deep through.  Powerful neck through to the shoulders.  Good bone with a deep brisket.  Moved and handled well.

2nd KERRISDALE IRON DRAGON

Black/white pied just out of junior, short and compact with a good head shape, large round eye, good bite and clean lipped.  Good stop, strong neck leading to well-placed shoulders, good topline held on the move.  I'm sure this dog is a slow maturer and it will be interesting to see how he shapes up.

P. Gatenby
3rd PRIDE OF TIME

This mature twenty-month old red definitely has the bone of his sire with a broad skull, large dark raound eyes, good bite and well-pronounced cheek bumps.  Broad shoulders and back, good spring of rib and is well angulated.  Moved and handled very well.

1st EASTAFF ELITE

This dog took my eye the moment I saw him, a twenty month old Black Brindle whose large black eyes followed me from left to right showing his superb expression all the time I stood in front of him.  Broad short muzzle, clean tight lips, mouth okay.  Excellent stop, superb neat rose ears, deep through, short neck, just enough shoulder to keep him all in proportion.  Well sprung ribs, close coupled with a good topline held on the move.  Tight, well-padded feet.  Ample bone throughout with good angulation and correct tail carriage to complete the picture.  I was delighted to be able to award this dog Best Dog.  Reserve Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex in Show.

Mr. & Mrs. McIntyre
2nd CARNIG UP N'ATTEM

Another fit dog and a little longer in leg would've made him a contender for the top spot.  Nevertheless this 2½ year old Black Brindle/white had an excellent bite with a broad skull and muzzle, deep through, short neck into powerful shoulders.  Good spring of rib, moved and handled very well.

2nd ROCKSTAFF WINGER

At just over 2½ years old this fit Pied finer than 1st but not lacking in quality and was unlucky to come up against 1st today.  Lovely head and expression with large round eyes enhancing this.  Good bite, clean lipped, pronounced cheek bumps, and neat ears.  Well laid-back shoulders, good topline held on the move, close coupled with good spring of rib.  Moved with drive and the handler getting the very best from her dog.

1st TORNADOSTORM THE LEGACY J.W.

Black two year old who has matured into a very handsome dog since I went over him a year ago.  He has an excellent expression with a dark eye, neatest of ears and a broad skull.  Well placed shoulders, good topline held on the move.  Close coupled and moved with drive.  Handled well.

Mr. & Mrs. Caetano and Mr. Muir
2nd BLUNOOSA RUG RAT

It's hard to believe this dog is 4½ years old when I can remember him as a puppy and it seems like last year.  He too has matured into a very handsome dog with a short, broad muzzle and skull, excellent bite, clean lips and a strong underjaw.  Short well-muscled neck into strong shoulders, tight feet and well-boned.  Ample rib, close coupled, he moved with drive and was handled very well.  His coat was gleaming, a credit to his owners.

1st PAULISA GOING FOR GOLD

Red of nice quality and carrying her age quite well.  Good head shape with nicely carried ears and dark well-placed eyes whilst her mouth is clean and her bite is good.  She has a straight front and is short coupled and moves well for age.  Pigmentation more than adequate for coat colour.  Best Veteran.

Mr. P. Drummond and Miss L. Hopper
2nd GENTLE BEAUTY

Larger, strong, upstanding pied with a well-shaped head.  Nicely placed and shaped eyes and well positioned ears which, unfortunately, is not carried through in the mouth.   Not as short as 1st, she covered the ring with ease.

Class 11 Minor Puppy Bitch (11, 2 absent)
1st RAMBLESTAFF TEMPTIN FATE

A b/w pied puppy of class who pleases as soon as she enters.  She has a classic head with well-placed , small ears and dark round eyes.  Her mouth qualities are good also with a nice scissor bite and well-placed canines and clean lips.  Well-laid shoulders and straight front completes the head-on picture, however she has a decent body for her age and is short coupled.  Her movement is good but could be improved with a slightly stronger backend which should come with time and exercise.  Pushed hard for best puppy bitch but lost out on maturity.

J. Barren & J. Guiver
2nd TORNADOSTORM FIRST LADY

Pleasing b/b also with a nice head shape and small thin ears which she tends to fly a little.  She has a deep stop and nice round, dark eyes.  Nicely placed teeth with a good bite.  Straight fronted and short bodied she has a nice whip tail and good pigmentation.  Movement a little erratic at present but should tighten up.

1st ARAIDH LOVERS ROCK AT BONCHIEN

A good fronted puppy of quality with excellent head qualities.  Small rose ears nicely set, defined stop with good width between the eyes, which are well-shaped and dark.  Good depth to skull.  Dentition is good and she possesses a true terrier bite.  A strong neck moulds into well-set shoulders and a strongly ribbed body with width to chest.  She is short coupled with a powerful backend and neat tail.  She moves with drive, if a little close behind, however her overall assets overcome this.  With good bone and feet she was Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Show.

Mrs. K. Towner
2nd RAMBLESTAFF BLACK ONYX

Powerful, upstanding, b/b bitch larger that 1st but with many similar points.  Nicely headed with good skull ratios she has rose shaped ears and eyes of nice shape and colour.  Nice sized, well-placed teeth with top incisors fitting over bottom.  Neck length is good and not overlong and flows into nicely laid shoulders and straight boned legs.  Slightly longer in the back than 1st she nonetheless moves well, propelled by power from good hindquarters.

A good looking brindle that takes the eye.  Strong headed with pronounced cheek muscles and deep stop.  Lovely set ears top a well-proportioned skull and eyes which are nicely positioned are dark enough for coat colour.  Her canines are passable, if a little tight, but she has a good scissor bite.  Nicely bodied up with close couplings she has good quarters fore and rear and was the best mover in this class where they all moved a little close behind.  Reserve Best Bitch.
